New Years Eve Events Calendar

Time to reflect on the year that has passed and ring in the New Year. I am not going to do a year in review thing, as everyone and their brother has got one of them planned, and I have never been one to follow the rest of the herd anyways. Kind of because Rudolph and I never really played them reindeer games. Me? I am going to focus on all the great things 2012 is going to bring us. But first, let’s give 2011 a very cool Out and About send off!

As of now, I have listed close to 40 very cool events. Some are family friendly, and some are just going to be smokin hot parties with some of the best local bands in Connecticut. Some actually have both going on. I have listed these events on the events calendar, and linked each event to the appropriate website or Facebook page.

Let’s start with the family fun, as it should always be family first. Hartford is again leading the way with their First Night festivities. Bushnell Park will be the nplace to be for both an early and midnight fireworks display. Milford is also in the the family fun with Milford Celebrates!. This too features two firework displays. Further down the I-95 corridor Weston/Westport is in on the action as is a very cool downtown in Middletown.

Now you all know I love the local band scene. Some of the bands ringing in the New Year include Redline at the Green Line, Freeplay at Donahue’s, The Bernadettes at Bar 2421, Rock Bottom at the Chowder Pot, just to name a few.

This by no means is the complete list. I will be updating the calendar all the way up until noon on the 31st. After that, going to take a bit of a nap, and go see what kind of trouble I can get into. But remember one very important thing. Be safe, be smart, Designate a driver. The police are obviously going to out in force. Do not take any chances, do not put anyone’s life in jeopardy. Now is a time to celebrate life, not endanger it.
