New Haven Welcomes Shake Shack

Where will you be on Thursday? If you don’t know, or don’t have anything planned (and yes, I am officially giving you the afternoon off!) Downtown New Haven is definitely going to be the place to be. Why? Two words. Shake Shack.

Many of you may have had the distinct pleasure of hitting the Shake Shack at their locations in NYC or maybe even Westport, so havong one in New Haven makes it that much easier. For thise of you haven’t, well you are in for a great big treat. The Shake Shack is known for their allnatural burgers, flat top hot dogs, and frozen custard first and foremost. But equally important to Founder Danny Meyer’s is his Stand for Something Good campaign. This includes using the best ingredients available and making everything fresh to order. Using, whenever possible green building materials, and wood from sustainable species. They offset all their energy usage by buying renewable energy bonds, which support wind farms throughout the United States. All their foods are trans fat free, and they have gluten free options as wellThey are also donating¬† 5% of the sales of our Elm City Coffee Break concrete to Solar Youth, a local non-profit organization that empowers youth through environmental exploration, leadership, and community service.

The best part is that you can now go out and enjoy all the great choices at a reasonable price. Seriously, check out Shake Shacks Menu. Oh, and by the way, if you are looking for me in the next 2 weeks, this would be a good place to start……
